Why does Bloom have staff?
The staff of Bloom exist for a single purpose: to enable the community to continually rise to become a people on mission with Jesus. We see our role as primarily one of equipping and discipleship: from providing our house church leaders with training and resources for shepherding God’s people, to organizing those called to a ministry of prayer to pray over the sick and hurting in our community, to gathering the family together for corporate worship and instruction. We’re not the providers of programs. We are friends coming alongside other friends in the task of being what God has called us to be.
Why does Bloom have Seminarians?
We believe very deeply in the value of theological education in preparation for ministry, and as such have traditionally made it a point to try to create spaces of ministry for those in seminary who are discerning their call. The “seminarian” on our staff is a person who is pursuing theological education for the service of the church whom we’ve created space for at Bloom to contribute in ways that are congruent with their passions and gifts and also helpful for our community. They serve as unpaid staffers in our community in exchange for our helping with a portion of their educational costs.
